Wet Live Action at USS Waterworld

THE live action show’s title should have been sufficient warning to us, the eager and excited viewers.  What do you expect to happen when you watch a LIVE version of the Kevin Costner starrer, WATERWORLD?  A lot of people would probably get WET, that is.

The best section to watch a live action show is right in front of the set.  You see the actors up close, you feel the heat from the explosions, and — in the case of WATERWORLD — you get wet, really soaking wet.  Part of the show’s primary highlights is when the action hero deliberately maneuvers his jet ski so that it sends huge splashes of water right into the front-row seats. A walk in the (Jurassic) Park

USS Jurassic ParkWE DIDN’T just walk, of course.  We rode, flew, got wet, screamed, wowed, ohed, and ahhed.

We all tried the Canopy Flyer, a seemingly leisurely and “no thrill” ride that is supposed to give a bird’s eye view of the entire Jurassic Park zone.  As it turned out it wasn’t exactly a “no thrill.” The ride was a little bit too fast for comfort, albeit from the observers down below the flyers seem to be coasting along at a leisurely pace.

The Canopy Flyer, however, is just a teaser.  The main attraction in Jurassic Park is the Rapids adventure.  If you’ve been to Enchanted Kingdom here in PH and have tried Rio Grande then you more or less have sort of already experienced Jurassic Park’s Rapids Adventure.  The general concept — even the circular raft — is essentially identical.

The main difference is that there are some nasty cold blooded carnivores trying to eat you in JP Rapids Adventure. Continue reading
