You see the caption — Bethlehem | ISRAEL.  That’s right. I snapped a photo of this shop in downtown Bethlehem last November.

If this photo is not captioned some of you may have immediately blurted, “Onli in da Pilipins!”

Apparently, creative spoofing is not our monopoly.  Unless… the shop owner happens to be a Kabayan as well.  I should have dropped by, ordered a cup of Stars & Bucks, and asked.

Most christians associate Nazareth to Jesus.  In fact, “Jesus of Nazareth” is among the more popular identities of Jesus.

But the fact is, Nazareth is neither the birthplace of Jesus (it is Bethlehem, some 128 kilometers [80 miles] away) nor his hometown (Capernaum has this distinction). Continue reading
