A “crate experience” inside USS Madagascar (Photo Slideshow)

Madagascar

FOR OUR first Universal Studios Singapore (USS) major attraction we checked out (or should I say, “We checked in…”?) Madagascar.  There is no other way to describe the Madagascar zone but IMPRESSIVE!  For starters, there’s a 15-story high ship parked right inside USS!  And it looked sooo real!

Of course the first order of business for us is to get ourselves photographed with the stars of the Madagascar movie — Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria.  We were so star struck! Later that day we got the opportunity to be photographed with King Julien and The Penguins of Madagascar.  Swell!

And then off we went to experience our first USS ride: Madagascar, a Crate Adventure.  A hair-raising, ultra-high-speed roller coaster it was NOT.  It was just a leisurely ride on a slow raft which started by entering a huge gaping hole at the bottom of the 15-story ship.  The biggest suspense was a stack of huge crates that threatened to fall down on our raft just as it entered the ship (scream!).

What awaited us inside was like nothing I’ve seen before — a combination of life-size Madagascar mascots and huge movie/video screens that look so real (ohs,  ahhs, and wows!).  ’Twas a fun ride.

Unfortunately it was difficult taking photos during the ride.  Besides, I would not have enjoyed the ride if all I did was take photos, would I?  Still, we managed to snap a few images inside, enough to give an idea what one might expect to see when he/she gets to visit USS. We took more photos around the Madagascar zone after our raft ride.

Here are all the photos we managed to snap in and around the Madagascar zone in USS:
