SOME PLACES on earth are clearly God-forsaken. Bohol is NOT one of them. In fact, Bohol must be on the other extreme end of the hell-on-earth to heaven-on-earth continuum. It has no less than three gifts of nature.
First of all there’s the weather. Surrounded by bigger and taller islands, Bohol’s weather is almost perfect all year round. The destructive typhoons that ravage many provinces up north and down south hardly reach Bohol.
Next are the tarsiers. The fact that the tarsiers which are among the most sensitive creatures on earth thrive in – and only in – Bohol is a testament to Bohol’s “favored by nature” status.
And of course, last and definitely not the least, are the Chocolate Hills. Scientific studies have been made and are able to sufficiently explain how the unique formations came to be eons ago. But still the questions that beg to be answered are (1) “Why in Bohol? and (2) “Why only in Bohol?”
