OUR tour operator must have thought that we still had a lot of money left from our Holy Land Pilgrimage, so much so that they found it fit to allot one full day for shopping in our 2-day Dubai side trip.
We should have told them that we never really had a lot of spare money from the start. Our 1-day Dubai shopping tour became a window shopping tour.
Which was quite fine with us. We enjoyed touring the huge — and hugely empty — shopping malls of Dubai. We did manage to buy a few items — souvenir magnets, t-shirts, and a few other anik-aniks.
It was an uneventful way to end our 14-day Holy Land Pilgrimage PLUS Dubai Side Trip, which served us just right. After all, we didn’t need the extra expenses… and the excess kilos in our already precariously heavy home-bound luggages.
