Wanna blog? Use WordPress.

For those contemplating on starting a blog — or even putting up a Website (be it for business or pleasure) — I highly recommend WordPress.

I have used WordPress since I started blogging about 3 years ago.  Aside from my blogs (yes I maintain a number of them) I have put up and am maintaining at least half a dozen Websites all running on the WordPress platform.  I even recently set up a couple of e-commerce sites, also on WordPress.  Btw, NO PROGRAMMING SKILLS REQUIRED!

If you need a crash course on WordPress, here is a good place to start.  I found this online course from Alison.com.  Please note that you will need to have an account with Alison.com to enroll to this course.  But no worry.  Alison.com online courses are FREE, at least it was the last time I checked.

Here’s an introduction to the course…

Blogs have become widespread on the Web. They allow individuals provide commentary or news on a particular subject, and they can also be used as more personal online diaries. This free online course shows you how to create a blog using the popular blog publishing application WordPress. You will be shown how to set up an account, and write and edit entries for the blog. This course is ideal for learners who want to create their own blogs online but lack the skills or knowledge to do it.
