The other side of Egypt (A Pilgrimage to the Holy Land)

On November 8, 2010, my xxGF, and my parents-in-law joined about 50 other Filipino pilgrims in boarding an Emirates flight for a 10-day trip to the Holy Land. Our pilgrimage would span three countries.

By November 11, at about 4:00 PM, we reached the Taba border ready to cross into Israel and end the Egypt leg of our 10-day Holy Land Pilgrimage.  I have taken approximately 2,500 photos from our 3-day Egypt sojourn. That should be more than enough to paint a picture of Egypt.

I did take lots of photos of the Pyramids, the Sphynx, Mt. Sinai, and all the other usual landmarks that Egypt became known for.  But I also took photos, more actually, of the side of Egypt that the rest of the world hardly knows about.

The above slideshow shows some of the photos I took during our 3-day trip around Egypt — from Cairo and Giza, to the Sinai Peninsula, and all the way to the border with Israel in Taba.  These are Images of Egypt known to the Egyptians themselves.
