Until just a few days ago (Nov. 30), I haven’t blogged for 2 months and 1 day! That is quite a long time considering my blogging behavior in the past 2 years — until after Sept. 29 (the date of my last blog entry prior to Nov. 30), that is.
It wasn’t because there was a lack of topics to blog about during those 2 months and 1 day of “dry spell.” Truth is, a number of significant events — in my life, at least — happened during the said period. For one, my dad passed away in October. In the first 2 weeks of November my ex-ex-girlfriend and I accompanied her parents to their pilgrimage of the Holy Land. Oh, and I almost forgot… I turned 40 (ouch!) in September.
Perhaps it was the shock of turning 40. I’ve been acting like a 20 something and suddenly realized that I am old enough to be my 20 something friends’ dad — or let’s just say uncle to sound a little better.
More likely it must have been the stress of a very demanding work and family life. I’ve been doing a lot of projects lately — both at home and in the office — and I might have bitten more than I can chew.
So what snapped me out of my blogging hiatus?
I can’t tell for sure, at least not yet. Could be any of several things as well. Perhaps my recent respite from the drudgery and hustle-bustle of my daily busy routine helped a lot. Although I won’t really call my 15-day Holy Land trip a respite!
Whatever it is that made me start blogging again, I am just glad that it did!
