I’ve been reading “An Unfinished Life” by Robert Dallek for at least a month now. It remains an unfinished book assignment though as I am still in the early 20% of the book.
It is a very interesting book to say the least, with lots of details about JFK’s early years never before published, including his myriad of weird medical conditions, and the early manifestations of his now famous sexual appetite.
It’s been an arduous read, at least in the portion of the book where I am currently in, with lots of medical jargons that I could hardly pronounce and of no real interest to me. At this point I am averaging a measly 2 pages per day!
But I am optimistic that this will change soon. I am now in the part where JFK is turning into a young man, just about to start his career in public service, beginning with his stints in the US military (in the safe confines of his desk in Intelligence).
Still I don’t expect to finish reading this book any soon. So much with my 1-book a week target!
