My Life Sentence
December 8, 2000 is probably the most important date in my life.† It was the day I was convicted of a Life Sentence.
That was nine years ago last month.† I should have written and posted this blog entry last December 8, or shortly after.† But I procrastinated.
Procrastination.† It is one of the habits that a convict-for-life acquires quite easily.† And why not? †A lifetime can be a very long time so postponing things for a few days, or weeks, or even months doesnít sound like too big a deal.
About the celebrationÖ it was actually a ìconcelebration,î if I may borrow the term from our Roman Catholic priests.† After all I was not the only one who got convicted of a Life Sentence that fateful day nine years ago.
On December 8 last year, my ex-girlfriend and I went out for a romantic dinner to celebrate ñ and commemorate ñ the day we lost our freedom to each other nine years ago.

Garden Dinner in the Terrace
We planned for the dinner date but the venue selection was, as usual, the product of a last minute deliberation. †We settled on Terrace at the Fifth in Greenbelt 5 Annex.
The setting, with bright Christmas lights and decors in the background, was superb. †The food? †The best description I can give is “interesting.” †Price? †It’s not cheap. †But it is not ridiculously expensive either. †Let’s just say it fits the occasion.
