I just received “The Tao of Warren Buffet” book as a gift from my ex-girlfriend. †It is a collection of profound aphorisms from investment guru and mega-philanthropist, Warren Buffet. †I just started with it but I am already immensely loving it.
Here is a sampling of Buffet’s quick wit and wisdom from the book:
“Rule No. 1: †Never Lose Money.
Rule No. 2: †Never Forget Rule No. 1.”
“I made my first investment at age 11.
I was wasting my life up until then.”
“Never be afraid to ask for too much when selling
or offer too little when buying.”
“You can’t make a good deal with a bad person.”

You know I have time management issues when you don’t get to see more regular blog postings in A ‘Wonderful’ Blog. †I am soooo preoccupied with a lot of things — both important and inconsequential — in the past several weeks that I can hardly find the energy to post my ever growing pile of blog materials.
But I do get to read all the spam e-mails from my friends and colleagues. †Does that tell you a lot about my priorities these days (LOL). †But hey, we all deserve a good laugh, don’t we? †So when a friend sends me spam e-mail that manages to make me laugh, I blog it. †Here’s one.
The Veterinarian. One Sunday, in counting the money in the weekly offering, the Pastor of†a small church found a pink envelope containing $1,000. It happened†again the next week!
The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw†an elderly woman put the distinctive pink envelope on the plate. This†went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached†her.
“Ma’am, I couldn’t help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the†collection plate,” he stated.
“Why yes,” she replied, “every week my son sends me money and I give†some of it to the church.”
The pastor replied, “That’s wonderful. But $1000 is a lot, are you sure†you can afford this? How much does he send you?”
The elderly woman answered, “$10,000 a week.”
The pastor was amazed. “Your son is very successful; what does he do†for a living?”
“He is a veterinarian, ” she answered.
“That’s an honorable profession, but I had no idea they made that much†money,” the pastor said. “Where does he practice?”
The woman answered proudly, “In Nevada. He has two cat houses, one in†Las Vegas, and one in†Reno.”
At this point you are supposed to be rolling on the floor laughing. †That’s part of basic blogging etiquette, in case you don’t know.
