I almost fell from my seat from laughing out loud when I finally realized what this is about. †It was e-mail forwarded to me by a friend and I didn’t immediately figure out what it is.
When I finally got it, the first thing that came to mind are my colleagues at work who are Industrial Engineers by profession. †I call them the “process freaks” (not in any demeaning way — like I am a “technology freak” and a “war freak”).
Industrial Enginners, at least the ones I work with, †love to draw boxes and arrows and they will prepare elaborate diagrams about anything from the most mundane to the hyper-complex procedures if you’ll allow them to. †I often tease them that they are a serious threat to the environment, too, because of their propensity for printing so much documents.
Another equally hilarious thought just entered my mind. †I wouldn’t be surprised if an enterprising Industrial Engineer would come up with a new innovation for the Videoke. †Instead of showing a song’s lyrics in a sequential manner like we have come to get used to, each song will be presented in a single screen/slide very similar to the diagram above. †As the music plays the appropriate box and/or arrow is highlighted for the the singer to follow. †Now that would be a truly process-efficient way of doing a Videoke, wouldn’t it. †The only problem is, Videoke lovers may all have to take a crash course in reading process flow diagrams before they can resume crooning and belting their favorite songs.
