THERE IS something terribly wrong with this photo. †I am not on it!!!

The photo was taken on February 27, 2009 somewhere in Makati. ††I was supposed to be with the group but something urgent at work prevented me from making it.
†
It was a brief reunion of sorts. †The people in the photo are former colleagues of mine in ACISystems (now IBM Solutions Delivery, Inc.) way back in 1996-97. †We were members of the management team of the then Joint Venture company of IBM, Ayala Systems, and CSA Pte. Ltd. of Singapore.

Except for my ex-girlfriend’s (4th from right), the other faces in the photo belong to dear friends whom I have not seen for ages.†

JB (leftmost) was a highly paid OFW in Saudi Arabia for the past several years. †He came back for good some time last year but I haven’t the chance to hook up with him yet. †I greatly miss JB’s company in our weekend Fun Runs and I am blaming him for the 15-20 pounds I have gained since he left the country. †I believe JB has so far managed to stay single. †Doesn’t mean he’s celibate, though.

The last time I remember seeing Ernest (2nd from left) was before he left ACISystems to join Ogilvy. †That was at least 12 years ago. †We bump into each other in Makati from time to time but that’s it. †Oh yes, I almost forgot. †Ernest and I hooked up with each other in FaceBook earlier this year. †From his FB postings I learned that he recently left the country for Indonesia (or is it Malaysia?) for a short assignment (or is it for a long-term job?).

Melissa (3rd from left), has been with BDO now for what? †9 years?! †From what I gathered she’s been very well — a new car, a very nice house in Antipolo. †Life is good, at least for her.

And Annie (rightmost)? †Annie is still Annie. †I think†she’s been to 2-3 other companies since our time together in the IBM subsidiary. In each one she makes it a point to leave her indelible mark, terrorizing her expat employers every chance she gets. †Ooops, sorry I did not mean to put Annie in a bad light by revealing her terroristic tendencies. †I would rather that other people know and remember her as a very successful and highly accomplished IT professional. †She drives a nice car, too. †And the best part is… she’s single. †What’s the catch? †Oh well…
