I†HAD AN unplanned lunch date with my ex-girlfriend in Eastwood City last week (Thursday, Jan 30) when we went to pay for our condo dues in The Eastwood Excelsior. †It was past 12:00 o’clock noon when we got there so we decided to look for a place to eat first.
†
As usual we wanted to try something we haven’t been to before. †It was a hot and humid day so we were not in a mood to “shop” around for our lunch place. †Seafood Island was the first to catch our attention. †It so happened that we haven’t eaten there yet .
†
I’LL CUT TO THE CHASE. †It was a bad decision. †It was a quite filling lunch alright, but quite not fulfilling.
†
My issues:
- Poor Presentation. †See the photos below and make your own judgment. †When people dine (or lunch) out in a place like Eastwood, they generally pay a premium. †With that premium comes a certain level of expectation on the general ambiance (which includes the way the food is presented).
- Everything before dessert is too salty. †Even the rice. †Our dessert, on the other hand, is generally “uneventful.” †But I did enjoy unearthing the ice cream from their “Fried Ice Cream” (See before-vs-after photo below)
- Poor attention to details — e.g. †they gave us regular spoons for our dessert. †(For the explanation please refer back to issue no. 1).
- Some items in the menu are criminally expensive. †To be specific, their Tiger Prawn Adobo in Aligue costs P365 or P91.25 per piece (see photo below).
†
Some good things going for this joint:
†
- The restaurant’s interior is well and aptly decorated. †Which makes issue no. 1 above such a shame even more. †They must have spent amply in decorating the place only to serve plain-looking and lousy-tasting food.
- Fast enough service.
†
†
Evidences:

For really fine dining in Eastwood go to El Pirata. Reasonable prices also.
Hahaha. For a disappointed customer you took lots of photos. But I must agree with you about the quality of food in Seafood Islands. I wasn’t impressed also when I tried it there sometime last December.
