†
ON DECEMBER 14, 2008 I decided to join FaceBook.† By end of 2008, FaceBook reached its 150-million member mark.†
†
So mine is now among the 150 million and fast growing population of FaceBook, probably the biggest online community today.
†
I took FaceBook quite literally and so for my FB photo profile I took pains in coming up with a photo of just my face.† It’s horrific!† But what can I do?† It’s the only face I have, LOL!
How am I doing in FaceBook after about a month into it?† How do I find it?
†
I am quite amazed at FaceBook’s ability to get me reunited (at least electronically) with long lost friends, especially those who have already chosen to live overseas.
†
I consider myself a moderate user (although already bordering to being an ‘addict’) and for my moderate usage I have managed to connect to 70 friends so far (as of this blog post, that is).
†
I am quite conscious and wary of the trappings of another online social network.† After all, I have tried quite a number of them.† The difference with FaceBook is the fact† that I have already lasted beyond a month on it.† Other social networks I joined in the past failed to keep me interested, or at least I was not interested enough to bother to continue with them.† With FaceBook I actually look forward to checking my FB Home Page for updates everyday.† And that’s a dangerous proposition, too.† I have to keep my FaceBook interactions in constant check, else I may really get addicted to it.
†
I hope to see yours on FaceBook.
