IT SNEAKED ON ME, this milestone in my young blog.† It was last Monday, August 19, when my blog registered its first one thousand daily unique hits. It was a photo finish, actually. The final count by midnight of Monday was 1,001.
There are some caveats to this special achievement.
First, it’s not really a measure of my blog’s daily unique visits from the day I started blogging.† I started blogging sometime in January.† I just enabled my blog’s site stat plug-in in July 16. So for all intents and purposes the 1,000th daily unique hits milestone is just for approximately the last one month.
Second, the milestone does not mean that 1,000 unique people visited my blog since July 16. The counter just checks for unique visits on a daily basis, thus, a visitor who accesses my blog every single day from July 16 to August 18 would have accounted for 34 of the 1,001 unique daily hits registered during the period, or 3.4 percent.
Professional bloggers would surely scoff at this miniscule achievement of my blog, and rightfully so.† It is not uncommon for really popular blogs to get more than 1,000 unique daily hits, and here I am celebrating my first 1,000 unique daily hits since July 16.† Obviously they are way beyond my league and I have no illusions whatsoever of even getting close to the least of them.
That’s okay.† Although I am starting to enjoy blogging a lot, my blogging activities so far has been chiefly “in aid of R&D.”
aWonderfulBlog.com is largely a work bench, a venue for me to experiment.† I also use it a lot to test WordPress plug-ins to determine which ones have commercial/business applications.
†
Being the novice I am, it actually thrills me to find out that, day in and day out, my humble and amateurish blog gets an average of about 50 unique visits per day. I think I’ll go out and treat myself to a bottle of ice cold San Mig Light. Make that two, please. #
