Number Riddle
MY FRIEND, KAT UMALI, of the UPMBA Housemates sent this riddle to our googlegroup earlier today.
The answer to the riddle is supposed to be the password to a Microsoft Excel that was sent with the e-mail as an attachment. I solved the riddle, alright, but I didn’t bother opening the file. I am wary of opening any attachments from forwarded e-mail messages after having been through a nasty virus attack last weekend.
Here’s the riddle for the benefit of those who happen to chance upon my blog. It should be a nice intermission/breather after long hours of pretending to be busy at work.
A man wanted to get into his work building, but he had forgotten his code. However, he did remember five clues. These are what those clues were:
The fifth number plus the third number equals fourteen.
The fourth number is one more than the second number.
The first number is one less than twice the second number.
The second number plus the third number equals ten.
The sum of all five numbers is 30.
What were the five numbers and in what order?

Hi Jude, thanks for dropping a comment on my blogsite. Yes this is not Mensa material so it will surely bore people with IQ’s in the top 2 percent of the general population.
Don’t worry I’ll look for more challenging riddles/puzzles to post on my blog. Cheers. =D
This is boring!
