WE PIGGED OUT. We were at Mang Jimmy’s so what do you expect?
June 21. It was a Saturday. We were scheduled to do our semi-monthly groceries in Shopwise. My roommate reminded me that we also need to drop by the Shopping Center in UP Diliman to get the books we had photocopied and bound the previous Saturday. It was past 12 noon and she also reminded me that I still haven’t brought her for a date to Mang Jimmy’s. Mang Jimmy’s is, of course, the famous and favorite hang out of UP Diliman students at the back of MWSS in Balara, QC. I used to tell her how good and inexpensive the foods in Mang Jimmy’s are and how much fun my classmates and I always have whenever we visit Mang Jimmy’s.
So my roommate and I decided to skip lunch at home and go straight to Mang Jimmy’s. BTW I didn’t fail to notice that Mang Jimmy’s has a lot of improvements since the last time I visited, which was a really long time ago. Most of the seats are now monoblock chairs (although I personally prefer the wooden benches).
Between my roommate and myself we ordered sizzling tapa (my choice), sizzling blue marlin (her choice), and kare-kare. We were told that we can order another viand for free. Wow. Okay so we ordered sizzling pusit. And Coke Litro of course. If you are familiar with Mang Jimmy’s you know that rice is “unlimited.” Yes that is still true even now that the cost of rice has almost doubled.
Burp!

PS: From Mang Jimmy’s we proceeded to the UP Shopping Center where I had turon for dessert and my roommate bought 10-peso worth of fish balls.
