Badjao Seafront, Puerto Princesa

IF YOU EVER visit Puerto Princesa in Palawan make sure to try Badjao Seafront. It is a restaurant along the shoreline, within five to fifteen minutes from any point in downtown Puerto Princesa City, built a few meters into the sea past a thin strip of mangroves.

The view is spectacular and the ambiance is perfect for de-stressing. The water 10 or so feet below is clean and clear, with schools of small fish passing by every now and then.

I am not sure what time it opens in the morning (if it opens in the morning) so call first or drop by the day before to inquire if you plan to try it for breakfast. But it’s definitely recommended for lunch, dinner, and even later afternoon snacks. They serve beer so it is also a nice place for unwinding in the evening after whatever adventures you went to in Puerto Princesa.

Did I mention that they serve really delectable food, too? Try their pritong lumpia for for appetizers. It has a peculiar taste that I can’t quite figure out but which I really love. For your main course you should not miss Binagoongang Pata.

Of course you should a bottle or two of San Miguel Beer ñ Light or Pale Pilsen, or whatever suits you ñ before, during, or after your meal.
