Photoblog: A subterranean Experience

On April 13, 2008, I had the rare opportunity to visit one of the best natural wonders of the Philippines ñ the Underground River in Palawan.

Together with the entire management team of Delbros Waterfront Leasing Co., Inc. (DELWATER), I visited the world-renowned Palawan Subterranean River in Sitio Sabang, some two to three hours drive northeast of Puerto Princesa City.

The field trip preceded our Delwater 1st Quarter 08 Conference hosted by our Palawan branch and slated for April 14-16, 2008.

Here are some of the photos taken from that field trip.

Delwater President and CEO, Jose Eduardo C. Delgado (JED), posing against a backdrop of limestone peaks on the way to the Subterranean River.† Limestone protrusions are a regular feature in†the entire Palawan island.

JED “fondling” a local celebrity.

Gig Hagad, Delwater Fleet Maintenance Manager, enjoying intimate moments with another local darling.

Atty. Jun R. Carlos (JRC), Delwater Director, corporate secretary†and legal counsel, exchanging pleasantries with his “kumpanyero.”† The inside joke is that the Bayawak and JRC are of the same kind.

Preparing to safely explore the “bowels of the Earth.”

Into the mouth of the “giant snake.”

A pose for posterity before going into the unknown.
